Dear Parents, Welcome to the 3/4/5 Preschool Class. I am looking forward to a great year filled with learning, and making new friends. Each child comes into the class with their unique God-given abilities and personalities and it is a joy to see them grow and bond together as the year progresses. In my classroom I strive to create a warm and caring Christian environment where your child will enjoy learning and being with other children. The 3/4/5 Preschool class will provide opportunities for your child to explore art, music, science, language, math and the world around them. There will be both structured and free-play activities and many “teachable moments” throughout the day.
Please note the following information about our class, as it will help to ensure a smooth transition to the new school year:
· Please pack extra clothes, shoes and socks for your child. Rainy days, art activities, snack and lunch time all present opportunities that can cause embarrassing wetness.
· Put your child’s name on everything that comes to school. You’ll be glad and so will we.
· Please dress your child in easy to wash play clothes.
· Please be on time each day. Class starts promptly at 9:30 AM and ends at 1:30 PM.
· If your child is sick please keep them at home. You may want to refer to the illness policy on page 17 if you have any questions.
· Newsletters/Calendars will be sent home each month to inform you of monthly themes, upcoming classroom activities and important dates.
· Sharing may be brought on your child’s assigned sharing day and we encourage you to tie it in with our monthly themes if possible. No weapons or toys of aggression please.
· Birthdays will be celebrated with a birthday crown and small gift. To bring a special treat and birthday napkins just let us know prior to the date so we can plan ahead.
